Gags

Gags are at times used in the consensual BDSM play. Some people find the sight of or activities involving gags sexually arousing. This can be the result of the image of the damsel in distress who is gagged by the captor to prevent any screaming. Even without any nudity or sexual act many people find this sexually arousing. To others the feeling of helplessness that comes with being gagged is appealing. Connotations of punishment and control are also included in Gags and thus they are often also used as a form of embarrassment to the wearer.

There are many different types of gags. One kind of is the over-the-mouth gag, which uses soft stuffs such as bandannas and scarves etc. Then there are cleaving gags where the gage is drawn between his/her teeth. The next kind of gag is the ball gag, which is generally made of silicone or rubber shaped like that of a sphere with a strip going through its diameter. Ball gags are commonly used in BDSM activities. A ring gag is very much similar to that of a ball gag. But in a ring gag, the ball is replaced by a hollow ring. A ring gag is safer as compared to a ball gag since there is less chance of choking involved in the ring gag.

Another kind of gag is the bit gag. It bears a fleeting likeness to the bit used in a horse and therefore its sexual value arises from the symbolism in human pony play. However, it is very important that all gags are used by consenting adults because they can have fatal consequences otherwise. Therefore it should never be forced into the mouth of someone who’s resisting or someone with flu or cold or just any type of respiratory problem.
