Since time immemorial, man has been experimenting with different concoctions in an effort to overcome penile and sexual dysfunctions and to enjoy longer periods of sex. Some of these concoctions, known as aphrodisiacs have been more mythical than real. However, research scientists have been able to find an answer to this problem, which affects millions of people throughout the world. The answer is Viagra and ever since its appearance on the scene, it has provided satisfaction to the suffering millions. Moreover, this is no longer a taboo topic as it was a few decades back. It is now being discussed openly and people are enjoying the benefits being provided by Viagra. Viagra helps to relax the muscles of the blood vessels, which in turn increase the blood flow to the penis when there is a sexual stimulation. There is a particular enzyme that breaks down chemicals, which cause the erection of the penis. Viagra helps to block this enzyme as a result of which the erectile chemicals do not get broken down and there is a harder and more prolonged erection. However, Viagra acts only when there is sexual stimulation and not otherwise. Hence it will have no effect on a healthy man if he takes Viagra and then goes about his normal daily activities without any sexual stimulation. Normally, men suffer from sexual dysfunction as a result of physical problems, the most common being the inability to have or maintain an erection. A simple solution is provided by Viagra which increases blood flow to the penis. In women, however, there are many more complexities such as lack of desire, difficulty in getting physically aroused, painful sex or lack of orgasm. Encouraged by the success of finding the solution to the problems of sexual dysfunction in men, a lot of research is taking place to find out if Viagra can do the same wonders for women also. The first results are very discouraging, as Viagra seems to be having no benefit for females suffering from sexual dysfunction. The above results came from a study performed at the Columbia Presbyterian Center in New York. Viagra was given to 33 postmenopausal females 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Different types of sexual dysfunctions ranging from decreased arousal to an inability to reach orgasm had been affecting these women. Discomfort, hypersensitivity and other minor side effects such as dizziness and headaches affected three females who dropped out. It is very important that before taking Viagra you must consult a doctor since it can cause your blood pressure to drop temporarily. Moreover, a thorough medical examination is needed to diagnose the erectile dysfunction and to establish whether Viagra should be taken alone or whether it is safe to take it with other medicines. It is also necessary to check if your heart is strong enough to withstand the extra stress of sexual activity. It is also necessary to determine the following:
Viagra has changed the lives of millions of men as they are now enjoying longer sex. Related articles and links:
